Federal Minister for Energy Omar Ayub, on Wednesday, stated that 24 new electric vehicle charging stations will be established across the country.
Speaking on the occasion of the launch of country’s first ever electric vehicle charging station at Jinnah Avenue in Islamabad, the federal minister stated that PM Imran Khan led PTI government is committed towards the promotion of environment friendly renewable energy.
“The launch of a first electric vehicle charging station in Islamabad is a welcoming initiative and an important step towards Clean and Green Pakistan,” he said.
“At least twenty-four new electric stations will be set up in future,” he added.

Meanwhile expressing the significance of first electric vehicle charging station Nadeem Babar -Special Assistant on Petroleum sated that electric vehicles are the future of transportation and this initiative is a milestone in reducing fossil fuel dependency.
The development comes as Primi Minister Imran Khan has given special significance of climate change in the country as various government initiatives such as ‘Billion Tree Tsunami’ and ‘Clean and Green Pakistan’ which focus on tackling deforestation and environmental change in the country.
It is to be noted that Pakistan on July 13 earlier this month, successfully achieved United Nations Sustainable Development goal (SDG) 13, ten years before deadline.
