Governor Sindh Imran Ismail has announced that Federal government will bear the expenses of the damage caused to residential plots and cars after Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight PK-8303 crashed in Karachi’s Model Colony area on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion of his visit to Burns Centre of the Civil Hospital, Karachi on Tuesday, Imran Ismail announced Rs 500,000 for the three domestic health workers namely Naheeda, who suffered 59 per cent burn injuries, and Mahra and Aziza, who both sustained 30 per cent burn injuries in the plane crash.
Governor Sindh was also accompanied by MNA Mahmood Moulvi and Aftab Siddiqui, and announced that Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed Federal Aviation Minister Ghulam Sarwar Khan to ensure that the residents whose houses and vehicles have been damaged are compensated and that their residents are repaired and rebuild on the expense of federal government.
Furthermore, Imran Ismail also stated that a forensic specialist team, headed by Dr Humayun has already arrived in Karachi for DNA identification of victims and the process will be completed within the next 10-15 days.
It is to be noted that the federal government has already announced Rs 1 million for the victims’ families, along with another Rs 5 million that are expected to be paid in line with aviation insurance claim.
