Pakistan on Tuesday categorically rejected a CBS News report regarding the presence of Iranian aircraft at Nur Khan Airbase in Rawalpindi, describing it as misleading and sensationalized, the Foreign Office said in a statement.
According to CBS News, Pakistan had quietly allowed Iranian military aircraft to park at its airfields, allegedly to shield them from possible American airstrikes.
Responding to the report, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs termed the claims “speculative narratives” aimed at undermining ongoing efforts for regional stability and peace.
The Foreign Office clarified that following the US-Iran ceasefire, and during the initial round of the Islamabad Talks, a number of aircraft from Iran and the United States arrived in Pakistan to facilitate the movement of diplomatic personnel, security teams, and administrative staff associated with the talks process.
