COVID-19 vaccination centers in Lahore will now remain closed on Sunday, confirmed DC Lahore on Saturday (today).
Mudassir Riaz Malik – Deputy Commissioner Lahore has confirmed that all COVID-19 vaccination centers will remain closed on Sunday (tomorrow).

The public is informed that all vaccination centers in the city will be closed on Sunday. Therefore, all citizens of Lahore are requested not to visit any vaccination center tomorrow, he tweeted.
No reason has been disclosed so far as to why all vaccination centers will remain closed.
It is pertinent to know that Lahore along with several other cities in Punjab were subjected to severe vaccination shortage last week.
Last week only four of Lahore’s COVID-19 vaccination centers namely Pakistan Kidney and Liver Institute, Expo Centre, Minar-e-Pakistan, and Railway Dispensary were operational due to depleted vaccine stock.
Meanwhile earlier this week, Pakistanis seeking to travel abroad, engaged in heated arguments with administration staff at Lahore Expo Center after they were refused AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine.
Pakistan is currently utilizing a total of six COVID-19 vaccines namely Sinopharm, CansinoBio, Sputnik V, Oxford AstraZeneca, Pfizer and Sinovac to carryout nation-wide inoculation drive against the novel virus.
It is to be noted that following NCOC’s approval, people aged 18 and are now able to avail the walk-in COVID-19 vaccination facility across the country.
As per NCOC statistics, 11,440,648 people have been partially vaccinated against COVID-19 with 2,725,240 people being fully vaccinated against the novel virus with the country administering a total of 14,165,288 COVID-19 vaccine doses in total.
Pakistan’s total COVID-19 tally stands at 953,842 cases with 22,188 deaths so far. A total of 898,944 people have successfully recovered from the novel virus, whereas 1,995 are still in critical condition.
