The suspect behind rape and murder of a six-year-old has been arrested by the police and has confessed to the heinous crime.
As per the police, the suspect named Zakir has confessed to raping and murdering the six-year-old girl in Karachi’s Orangi area.
In his statement, the suspect has said that he put the girl in a rickshaw at around 11:30 pm and drove the rickshaw for an hour. He said he was intoxicated when he took the girl to the Sunday bazaar ground around 12:30pm in Korangi.
The girl was still alive after he raped her and was semi-conscious. He said she “suddenly jumped and broke her neck,” the statement adds.
DIG Police East Saqib Ismail has said that he would undergo a DNA test today in order to ascertain if he was involved in the entire episode.
The suspect purchased a ticket to Multan and went home to get his clothes. He called his wife and said he wanted to escape from Karachi along with his children, said the police.
It is to be noted that the six-year old’s dead body was found in a dumpster in the city after the minor was raped and killed.
