Commander Bahrain National Guard, General Shaikh Mohammed bin Isa Bin Salman Al Khalifa, called on Pakistan’s Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif and Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force, during his visit today to Air Headquarters, Islamabad.
General Shaikh Mohammed bin Isa, Commander of Bahrain National Guard of the Kingdom of Bahrain, discussed avenues of cooperation between the two brotherly countries.
PM expressed positive trajectory
The Prime Minister hailed the historical brotherly ties between the two countries, characterized by common values, aspirations, and respect.
Expressing satisfaction with the positive trajectory of the relations, he stressed the importance of enhancing cooperation in IT, medicine, construction, food security, and the export of Pakistani skilled and semi-skilled human resources.
Al Khalifa highlighted the deep bilateral relations between the two countries and shared hope for further strengthening them in all common areas of interest. Currently, over 120,000 Pakistanis are working in Bahrain, which contributes significantly towards the progress and development of both nations.
During the meeting of General Shaikh Mohammed bin Isa Bin Salman Al Khalifa and Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff, and Pakistan Air Force, several critical areas of mutual interest, along with regional developments, were discussed. On his arrival, a smartly turned-out contingent of Pakistan Air Force presented General Shaikh Mohammed bin Isa Bin Salman Al Khalifa as the guard of honor.
Later the visiting notable was introduced to the Principal Staff Officers. He also laid a floral wreath on the martyrs’ monument.
The Chief of the Air Staff shared the broad contours of PAF’s modernization plan of smart acquisitions from allied countries, upgradation of infrastructure, and revamping of training. The Air Chief highlighted that both countries enjoy long-lasting religious and historical relationships, manifested through unprecedented strategic partnerships.
He also reiterated his resolve to enhance further the existing bilateral ties in military-to-military cooperation, strategic alliance, and the training domain. CAS said that Pakistan values its strong economic, diplomatic, and defense relationship with Bahrain. These relations are based on convergence on all important issues relating to security, regional peace, and stability.
The visiting notable praised the professionalism of PAF personnel and the exceptional progress made by the Pakistan Air Force over the years, mainly through indigenization.
He also appreciated the continuous efforts of Pakistan for regional stability and pledged to play his role in further improvement of bilateral military cooperation at all levels. Both the dignitaries vowed to consolidate further cooperation in various fields, including training, emerging technologies, and cooperation in the aviation industry.
