The anticipation around 120 Bahadur has been steadily building. According to sources, the teaser is likely to be attached to War 2 and is expected to release in the first week of August. With fans looking forward to seeing Farhan Akhtar return to the war genre—this time as the lead actor rather than director—the excitement continues to grow.
Inspired by the life of Maj Shaitan Singh Bhati (PVC), 120 Bahadur tells the story of an extraordinary act of courage during the Battle of Rezang La in 1962, where 120 Indian soldiers stood their ground against thousands, defending Ladakh with unimaginable grit.
To match the scale and authenticity of the story, the team filmed in some of the most extreme conditions and high-altitude terrain in Ladakh.
“The team shot at around 14,000 feet in Ladakh, and temperatures often dipped to minus 5, even minus 10 degrees on some days,” revealed an industry source. “The aim was to honour the story with honesty, and Farhan really went all in — physically, mentally, emotionally.”
Farhan Akhtar, who plays Maj Shaitan Singh Bhati (PVC), underwent a significant transformation for the film — including military-style training and acclimatisation at high altitude.
Featuring striking visuals, a grounded narrative, and a patriotic theme, 120 Bahadur is being positioned as one of Excel Entertainment’s more ambitious projects. Combining war action with emotional storytelling, the film seeks to portray a significant chapter from Indian military history.
