Sardar Masood Khan – President Azad Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday, reiterated that India will fail in its nefarious intentions of turning the disputed valley of Kashmir into ‘Hindu Rashtra’.
Expressing his views as keynote speaker during a webinar titled ‘Marginalization of Kashmiris in the Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir by Indian Government’ organized by the Islamabad Policy Research Institute (IPRI), President AJK Sardar Masood Khan noted that despite India’s policy of irredentism and colonialism, Kashmiris have once again vowed to continue their struggle for liberty and self-determination.
The Indian campaign is not just about the marginalization of Kashmiris, but their total annihilation. What is happening in the IOJK is genocide as defined in Article 2 of the 1948 Geneva Convention, he said.
Sardar Masood Khan highlighted that young men are being killed in fake encounters and that the fate of more than 13,000 young boys rounded up in 2019 and put into concentration camps is still unknown.
Top Kashmiri leadership is either in the most infamous jails in India or are imprisoned in their houses, he added.
Furthermore, President AJK underscored the fact that 2020 was the worst year for the population of Azad Kashmir, living along the LoC. Some 3,000 ceasefire violations, scores killed, hundreds wounded. Indian aggression has made the area a living inferno for civilians.
The webinar was hosted by Brig (R) Raashid Wali Janjua – Acting President IPRI and was attended by several other prominent individuals including former Senator Javed Jabbar, Chairperson Pakistan Peace and Culture Organisation Mishaal Hussain Malik and AVM (R) Shahzad Chaudhry.
