A one-day workshop held in Lahore brought together 25 dedicated union workers—men and women from diverse sectors—to strengthen their understanding of GRQPS (Gender-Responsive Quality Public Services) and mobilize against the growing tide of privatisation.
Organized jointly by Public Service International and Workers Education & Research Organisation (WERO) and facilitated by gender specialist Tahira Habib as part of a broader campaign for equitable and inclusive public services, the workshop provided a platform for participants to share experiences, build solidarity, and develop strategies to advocate for GRQPS in their workplaces and communities.
Through interactive sessions and collective dialogue, attendees reaffirmed their commitment to defending public services that prioritize gender equity, accessibility, and accountability.
At the close of the workshop, all participants pledged to actively resist privatisation efforts and promote GRQPS as a cornerstone of social justice and workers’ rights.
The gathering marked a significant step in building grassroots momentum for a public service agenda that centers people over profit.
