Dilawar Syed – a Pakistani-American, has been nominated by US President Joe Biden for the post of Deputy Administrator of the Small Business Administration, USA.
“Today President Joe Biden announced his intent to nominate Dilawar Syed to serve as Deputy Administrator of the Small Business Administration (SBA),” read the statement issued by White House on Wednesday earlier this week.
Dilawar Syed’s appointment to the key post is subjected to US Senate’s approval. Mr Syed hails from Pakistan and immigrated to US as a student to study at The College of Wooster in Ohio state. Expressing his views, Dilawar Syed reaffirmed his commitment to ‘put his heart and soul into helping small businesses everywhere in these challenging times’.

Dilawar Syed is currently serving as President and CEO at Lumiata – an artificial intelligence (AI) for healthcare company. He has also served as President Freshworks – a company that provided software support to thousands of small and medium businesses.
Mr Syed has actively participated in government efforts and initiatives for economic growth. He was also a part of White House Commission on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPIs) during Obama administration.
He holds a B.A degree in Economics and Computer Science from The University of Texas along with an M.B.A degree from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
