The second anti-polio campaign of 2026 will be conducted across the country from April 13 to 19, according to the National Emergency Operations Centre (NEOC).
During the campaign, more than 45 million children will be administered the polio vaccine to protect them against the crippling disease.
In addition to vaccination, children will also receive supplementary doses of Vitamin A to boost immunity.
Around 413,000 polio workers will participate in the seven-day nationwide drive, carrying out door-to-door immunisation activities.
The country conducted its first nationwide polio campaign of the year in January, vaccinating more than 45 million children.
Polio is a highly contagious viral disease that can cause permanent paralysis, mainly in children under the age of five.
