Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), reaffirms authorities’ concerns as it faces flight ban over fake licenses fears.
Following the temporary flight ban imposed on the national carrier by The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) over concerns regarding dubious pilots’ licenses, PIA seeks to reaffirm European authorities urging them to review their flight suspension directives as the national carrier strictly adheres and upholds the international safety standards.
As per the details, PIA has requested further government support to back PIA’s narrative which states that the national carrier prioritizes the safety of passengers at all cost, and the pilots with dubious credentials have been grounded, meanwhile those who are still operational are being screened thoroughly as an additional safety measure.

According to the statement issued by PIA;
- PIA places safety of its passengers at top priority.
- Auditing of pilots documentations must be seen in above context.
- PIA is in an economic crunch. Even this important factor has not distracted Pak from its motto: safety first & foremost.
- PIA has grounded all pilots who have even the slightest suspicion of fake license. This has by default raised the safety of planes & hence must be appreciated.
- EU ban therefore needs to be reviewed immediately. Rather EU must encourage the self-auditing of PIA for enhanced safety.
The development comes as EASA, on Tuesday, announced a six-month suspension for PIA to operate within Europe, citing safety concerns over fake licenses fears.
