Chinese cellphone giant ‘Vivo’ has announced to establish its manufacturing facility in Pakistan.
Federal Minister for Industries and Production – Hammad Azhar took to social media to announce that Chinese cellphone company Vivo will be establishing its manufacturing facility in Pakistan.
The federal minister noted that the company has already acquired the land for its manufacturing facility.
Furthermore, Hammad Azhar noted that government’s initiative titled DIRBS which aimed at device verification, identification of cellphones has already addressed the issue of smuggled and illegal cellphone devices in the country.
Due to Mobile Manufacturing Policy, revenues have doubled and local manufacturing is on the rise, said Hammad Azhar.
As per details, the cellphone manufacturing facility will be established in Faisalabad as the Chinese company and Punjab government had signed the agreement in November last month.
The agreement was signed between Duam Tai Ping – Vice President Vivo and Zhang Bin – Director Manufacturing at Faisalabad Industrial Estate Development & Management Company (FIEDMC) in the presence of Aamer Saleemi – FIEDMC CEO.
The initial investment is said to have been worth up to US$ 10 million.
