Kaaba to be exactly under the Sun today

Kaaba – the holiest site for Muslims around the world is set to be exactly under the Sun today.

The event of the Sun exactly hovering over the Holy Kaaba will enable Muslims all across the world to determine the ‘Qibla’ by observing the Sun’s position.

As per the details, the Sun will be exactly over Kaaba at 12:26 pm at Mecca and 2:26 pm Pakistan standard time.

The phenomenon facilitates Muslims to determine Qibla for prayers, irrespective of the fact of their location on the globe as Masjid-al-Haram is located between the Equator and Tropic of Cancer.

According to experts, the Sun hovers exactly above the Kaaba two times a year, on May 27 and July 15 as Due to the tilt of the Earth’s axis, the sun travels at 23.5 degrees north and south of the celestial equator.

The sun falls directly overhead on places lying over the equator during equinox and moves northwards towards the tropic of cancer and then again progresses southward.
