Pakistan condemns assassination of Iranian scientist in Tehran
Pakistan condemns the assassination of Iranian scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh in Tehran, here on Thursday.
We extend sincere condolences to the family members of Mr. Fakhrizadeh and to the Iranian people.
Such acts not only run contrary to all norms of interstate relations and International Law but also threaten the peace and stability of an already fragile region.
Pakistan strongly urges all sides to exercise maximum restraint and avoid further escalation of tensions in the region.
a pick-up truck parked by the side of the road exploded and then several gunmen opened fire on the vehicle carrying Fakhrizadeh, mortally wounding him and wounding a bodyguard.
Several bullets were fired at first, it said, prompting Fakhrizadeh to exit his bulletproof vehicle thinking there was something wrong with the car. He was then hit with multiple rounds, the report said.
