Pakistan received $3.66 billion in workers’ remittances in August 2026, registering a 16.5% increase year-on-year, data from the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) showed on Wednesday. In a post on X, Adviser to the Finance Minister Khurram Schehzad said remittances during the first two months of FY27 stood at $7.29 billion, up 14.7% compared with the same period last year. August remittances also increased 0.7% month-on-month, according to the figures shared by the adviser. SBP data showed that Saudi Arabia remained the largest source of remittances in August, contributing $873 million, followed by the United Arab Emirates with $750 million, the United Kingdom with $564 million, and the United States with $309 million.
