PSP condemns DC Central Karachi’s ‘political appointment’

Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP), on Saturday, condemned the appointment of Zia-ur-Rehman as Deputy Commissioner (DC) for District Central Karachi.

In a statement issued by PSP, the party has condemned the appointment of Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman’s brother Zia-ur-Rehman as DC Central Karachi, terming it as a ‘political appointment’.

PSP has raised its concerns regarding the timing of such appointment in wake of the upcoming local body elections.

In addition to it, the party has demanded Sindh government to revoke its appointment of Zia-ur-Rehman as DC Central Karachi.

It is to be noted that earlier, Sindh government on July 24, had issued a notification announcing the appointment of JUI-F chief Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman’s brother Zia-ur-Rehman as DC Central.

The appointment has been severely criticized as Zia-ur-Rehman is not CSS qualified and has only served in as an engineer in PTCL, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which was followed by his appointment as DPO Khushab.
