Afghan President Ashraf Ghani on Monday, called on Prime Minister Imran Khan to extend his greetings on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha and discussed Afghan peace process.
During the telephonic conversation between the two premiers, both leaders acknowledged the repercussions of COVID-19 pandemic on Eid-ul-Azha and agreed upon mutual cooperation and assistance in tackling the virus outbreak.

Furthermore, the two leaders discussed Afghan peace process and its significance for regional peace and stability. PM Imran Khan highlighted Pakistan’s contribution in facilitating Afghan peace process and reiterated the country’s commitment towards the establishment of sustainable peace and stability in Afghanistan.

Expressing his views on the US-Taliban peace deal, PM Imran stated that the implementation of the peace deal and the successful conclusion of intra-Afghan dialogue are imperative for regional peace and stability and that a peaceful Afghanistan is essential for a peaceful Pakistan.
