A police personnel was shot dead by unidentified assailant in Bhains Colony area in Landhi, Karachi, the police said.
According to the police, the culprit targeted the cop near 10 number road in the vicinity. Whereas the deceased policeman Qaiser was deployed at Saudabad Police Station in District Korangi.
The police added that an eyewitness has confirmed that the cop was martyred in resistance to robbery while he was wearing plain cloths.
While as per the account of the citizens, they saw an alleged person having a 30 bore pistol running away from the spot, the police adds.
The accused steeped into a bus after his motorcycle turned faulty while the culprit search is underway, the police apprised.
Later, the martyred policeman body was transferred to the Jinnah Post Graduate Hospital.
After autopsy the body has been handed to his heirs.
