Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) leader Rana Sanaullah, on Saturday, secured exemption from appearing in court in narcotics case.
Judge Shakir Hussain of special court for Control of Narcotics Substance (CNS) heard the narcotics possession case against PML-N leader and former provincial law minister Rana Sanaullah.

During the hearing, Rana Sanaullah’s lawyers filed a petition seeking exemption for his court appearance in today’s hearing.
The defendant’s defense counsel cited that their client is due to attend National Assembly (NA) session and therefore urged the court to grand exemption to him from court appearance.
The court accepted the request for the exemption from court appearance and postponed the case till July 11.
Prior to this, Punjab police on June 3, had stopped Rana Sanaullah’s car for search and inspection near Lahore’s Regal Chowk.
It is to be noted that Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has accused Rana Sanaullah of possessing 15 kg of heroin and being involved in drugs smuggling, an FIR was registered by ANF under section 9-C, 15 and 17 of the Control of Narcotic Substances Act.
Rana Sanaulla, on multiple occasions contended his innocence and has repeatedly denied such allegations terming them as political victimization from the PTI government.
