Karachi University to administer semester examinations online

Karachi University (KU) has published a confirmation notice to conduct semester examinations virtually – through Google classrooms, Microsoft, WhatsApp and Skype.

The two page described notification was emanated by the KU’s official Registrar Professor Dr Saleem Shahzad and appertained to affiliated colleges managing under the annual examination system.

It is to be confirmed that semester started in January look out obtrusions post-February 27 while online classes for the semester began during mid of June.

According to the notice, four different means of examination have been declared together with the “during session assessment” which involved a term paper, case study project, thematic essay, individual or group presentations, class tests and activity, a quiz, e portfolio, open book assignment and a separate or a group viva.

The second manner of examination is the eventual examination which inserted open book assessment, essays, final year project, reading and apprehension, and an oral examination.

The third manner of examination is experimental or lab assessments. Nevertheless, the practical part of the examination has been excluded and only the methodology section of the examination will be involved. Videos would be distributed among students and the analysis would be done verbally.

The forth manner is the complementary examinations. The declaration confirmed that these examinations would be occurring at the final examinations format.

The occurrence of the examinations would be declared by the pertinent course in charge and he’d also be accountable for the allotment of the marks.

As declared through the notification, while the time table of performing virtual examination, students can submit applications to their course instructors regarding to any subject related queries or internet issues to submit their exams, virtually.
